WHY MEDITATION

To many thousands of people meditation is providing a way of dissolving accumulated stress and bringing relief from many stress-related conditions. With this can come a new appreciation of and zest for life. SEE REVIEWS.

Meditation is a very ancient practice that is simple to do and is totally in your own control. This course is taught in a practical, straightforward and gentle way using the 'mantra' technique of meditation. Your teacher Susan has many years’ experience and will guide your progress in small groups and in a very supportive and friendly environment.

These meditation seminars and meditation workshops are not allied to any particular religion, ideology or sect. Everyone’s beliefs are treated with the utmost respect be they religious or otherwise. Meditation only opens up and deepens each persons spiritual journey.


COURSE STRUCTURE

The purpose of the meditation class is to teach you about the background and practice of meditation in a clear, enjoyable and practical way. As a result you will be able to meditate effectively and correctly by the end of the course.

Meditation is taught using a mantra, a small meaningless word (a mantra is a word which does not have any specific meaning but which facilitates a profound, deep rest).

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Personal introductions
  • A brief history of meditation
  • The nature of negative stress and its effects on body, mind and spirit
  • What happens in our bodies and minds when we meditate?
  • The benefits of meditation over other methods of relaxation and how it differs profoundly from them as shown in numerous research studies
  • You will learn the technique of meditation and participate in a number of 20 minute group meditations
  • You will also begin to meditate alone
  • There will be question and answer sessions and daily monitoring of individual progress
  • Discussion - How do we fit meditation into our busy lives
  • Where meditation leads and what we may expect from it

RESIDENTIAL AND
NON-RESIDENTIAL COURSES

held at Big Moon Cottage include the meditation course, 2 nights bed and breakfast, while the non-residential courses include the course. See prices on the COURSE AND RETREAT FEES page


GROUPS CAN BE ACCOMMODATED

A max of 6 people for residential course and a max of 10 people for the non-residential course.


I CAN TRAVEL TO OTHER GROUPS

who would like to have a course run for them. I will travel to any part of Ireland to run a 2 or 3 day course. These courses can be customised to your needs.
